CASE SCENARIO

A patient presents to the Emergency Department after a motor vehicle accident. Emergency medical services state that there was significant blood loss at the scene. On arrival to the Emergency Department the patient has a heart rate of 118, blood pressure of 130/84, and respiratory rate of 24. He has a normal mental status and is answering questions appropriately. He is not on any medications including antihypertensive medications. You note active bleeding from an extremity wound.
