5 year old boy with seizure

CASE SCENARIO

A 5-year-old boy is brought into the Emergency Department for seizures. Per EMS, the patient has been seizing for approximately 10mins. He was given intramuscular diazepam by EMS with no resolution of seizure activity. The patient has no medical problems and is in good health. He has no family history of seizures. The patient has not had any recent infectious symptoms but the family reports he has a family member who recently immigrated to the US at home on medication for an infectious pulmonary lesion. The child was last seen unattended playing with the pill bottle.
