CASE SCENARIO

A patient presents to the cardiologist office for routine follow-up. He has a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) for severe heart failure. The patient states he was reading online about blood clots and LVADs. He is on warfarin and is compliant with his medications. He has no complaints at this time.
